(Hebrew: פָּרָשָׁה, means “portion”) is defined as a section of a Biblical book in the Masoretic text of the Tanakh or Hebrew Scriptures. The Torah is traditionally divided into 54 parshot (portions). Each weekly Torah portion adopts its name from one of the first unique words in the Hebrew text. The traditional annual cycle begins and ends with the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah which follows the Feast of Tabernacles.

As followers of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah, we have added a New Testament portion to each of the traditional readings.
